AI Search Connector

The Google connection behind your AI search reports

AI Search Connector is the Google app that reporting portals use to bring your Google Search Console and Google Analytics 4 data, read-only, into their reports on how brands appear in AI assistants.

Who uses it

Marketing agencies and reporting platforms use AI Search Connector to track how brands show up in AI assistants such as ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews. Their clients reach it from the platform's own branded portal, when they click Connect Google Search Console or Connect Google Analytics. AI Search Connector is the Google app behind that button, and its name is the one you see on Google's consent screen.

What you see once connected

  • Search Console: your top search queries and pages, with clicks, impressions, click-through rate and average position, next to how often AI assistants mention your brand. You can also turn your most searched queries into prompts that your portal tracks in AI assistants.
  • Google Analytics 4: the visits that AI assistants send to your site, for example from chatgpt.com or perplexity.ai, with sessions, users, landing pages and conversions over time.

How it works

  1. In your reporting portal, you choose to connect Google Search Console or Google Analytics.
  2. Google asks you to sign in and shows you exactly what access is being requested.
  3. You choose the site or property you want to share.
  4. Your portal reads that data on a schedule and shows it in your reports.

There is no separate sign-up. You use AI Search Connector through a reporting portal that offers it, and the Connect buttons are inside that portal.

What access it asks for

AI Search Connector requests read-only access, and nothing else:

  • .../auth/webmasters.readonly: read your Search Console sites and their search performance.
  • .../auth/analytics.readonly: read your Google Analytics properties and their reports.

It never writes to your Google account. It cannot change your settings, submit or remove URLs, edit a property, or alter anything in Search Console or Analytics. It cannot read your email, your files, or your contacts.

Removing access

You can remove AI Search Connector from your Google Account at any time, at myaccount.google.com/permissions. From that moment we stop reading your Google data. You can also ask your portal provider to disconnect it. To have data we already fetched deleted, write to support@aisearchconnector.com. The Privacy Policy explains the rest.
